Dudhwa National Park
Mishmash grasslands and sal trees define the slough terrain in Dudhwa National Park which is located about 400km from Delhi. The park has Nepal Border at its northern end while river Suheli forms the southern end of the park. Dudhwa was a tiger reserve until 1977 when it was converted into a National Park.

There is thick forest cover that makes accessibility a bit difficult, making it rare to spot a tiger in spite of their large population. Besides tigers, the wildlife here includes, leopards, hares, deer, rhinos, migratory birds, woodpecker and Bengal florican.

Wild Life Adventure
In all there are about 37 species of mammals, 16 species of reptiles and 400 species of birds. There are about a 100 tigers in this national park. Under the rehabilitation program of the park, rhinos from other parts of the country have been rehabilitated here.

Dudhwa is paradise for bird lovers. Painted storks, sarus cranes, owls, barbets, woodpeckers, minivets and many more, including some rare species like the Bengal florican are easy spots around the lakes of Dudhwa specially Banke Tal.

In order to move around the park, you will find plenty of options. Jeeps and mini buses can be hired to have a leisurely round of swampy deciduous forest. But if you are a wildlife lover, then s ride along an elephant trainer will make your trip even more adventurous.
